I live in a physical manifestation of my thoughts. My house. There’s something to get your thoughts around as an opening line!!
The Law of Attraction is the ability to attract into our lives whatever we are focusing on.
Last year I started looking around for a house to move into. I had a list of wants and musts that the house I moved into needed to meet. And I was pretty clear on those points. The house had to not only work for me, but for my two daughters and for our dog. Around the same time, friends of mine informed me that they were going to be moving overseas and that they were going to be renting out their house. While I was sad to see them go my adjoining thought was there house would be ideal for us! It ticked all of my boxes.
From that point forward, from time to time I found myself imagining living in that house. It felt like an easy move. I could actually sense that we would be happy and settled living there. But the dates didn’t work out, I needed to be out of my house sooner than theirs would be available and the rent was more than I could justify paying. I let go of the idea of the house because of the practicality, but in my heart I never did. And a big part of me continued to hold onto it. The feeling was too strong and I couldn’t bring myself to let go of it.
It is the Law of Attraction which uses the power of the mind to translate whatever is in our thoughts and materialize them into reality. In basic terms, all thoughts turn into things eventually. If you focus on negative doom and gloom you will remain under that cloud. If you focus on positive thoughts, and have goals that you aim to achieve you will find a way to achieve them with massive action.
I caused for myself a whole lot of suffering in the next few weeks. Because while my heart was set on one thing my head was still set on the practicalities- that it couldn’t possibly work out with the crappy timing and the high rent. I set about trying to find a house to move into that equalled the ideal I already knew existed and felt right. I fought and ignored what I felt, choosing to see all the reasons why it wouldn’t work and why it made no sense to live. No surprises when I tell you that every other house I looked at wasn’t quite as right, didn’t feel quite as good and didn’t measure up.
In the end I gave up. Exhuasted. Frustrated. Overwhelmed. Confused. Sick to death of looking at realestate.com in my spare time!
And I accepted. That the ideal house that I’d hoped for had landed in my lap. Whatever the cost financially, in time, in effort, it would work out and all work out as it should. It was meant to be. I would make it work. In fact I chose to fall back on what I’ve come to realise more and more in the last year, that it would work out even better than I expected it to if I simply allowed it to unfold.
And it did. The timing worked out perfectly- for all parties involved. The rent concern disappeared and became a complete non-issue financially.
Everything fell into place as soon as I got out of my head and moved back into my heart. Following instead what I felt rather than what I thought. My head told me it couldn’t work out but my heart always knew that it would. I was listening to the wrong part of myself and I was pushing away the thing I wanted to attract in the process. Boy did I add to my stress in doing this!!
What I realise now when I stand back and look at my house, which I hope you will remind yourself of whenever you next need or want to attract something or someone into your life, are these things.
Get Clear On What You Want
And be precise about it. So that when it shows up, the job, the house, the person, the amount of money you need, you recognise it as ideal straight away. You see the opportunity. Sense the possibility. You don’t shy from it and are able to be led by positive feelings and make it happen for yourself.
Don’t Get Caught Up In The How It Will Happen
It’s so incredibly easy to lose ourselves in the fine detail of how something will happen. To talk ourselves out of the possibility of something even eventuating or being possible. We can only plan so far ahead and act so much based on what we know in this moment. Let go of expectation and control here. Don’t let how you think something should happen spoil what could have otherwise been a very easy flow process. An even better process. Get out of your head and tap back into your heart. Deep down you already have the answers.
Trust In The Process and Have A Sense Of Positive Anticipation
Positive anticipation is so important to having a positive mindset. It doesn’t necessarily change the outcome but I know one thing for sure- you’ll better enjoy the ride when you expect everything to work out positively! And it gives you a certain vibe that you carry that others sense. When you feel good, you do good and good things have a way of making their way to you. In my own personal life right now I’ve currently been awarded Unicorn status by some of my friends because everything just keeps coming together for me. Sometimes slowly, sometimes quickly. But always together. Somethings how I imagined, somethings not, but always better than I expected in the end. Sometime I don’t know how I got here myself! But I know that I’ve more often than not trusted the process. Make your own journey easy and trust in the process too.
“You can’t connect the dots looking forward; you can only connect them looking backwards. So you have to trust that the dots will somehow connect in your future. You have to trust in something – your gut, destiny, life, karma, whatever.” Steve Jobs
To me my house is a powerful example of how the law of attraction works and can work effortlessly. I get to wake up in it, live my life in it, fall asleep in it. It is a constant reminder of how powerful my thoughts and desires can be when attached to good feelings and positive emotions. A constant reminder to equal parts trust in the unknown and to follow that feeling with action.
What has happened or exists in your life that proves this to you also? What fell in your lap that you were imagining for yourself? What worked out even better than you expected? What do you need to get super clear about for yourself that you want to bring in?
P.S. If this topic interests you there is a wonderful video on youtube from the book “The Secret” that wonderfully explains how The Law Of Attraction works (it starts of a little heavy but go with it!) You can find it here.
